Who Is the Gal Behind the Camera?
My name is Alex Lemieux and I have been shooting ever since I was in high school. I started out my career working with a wedding photographer, cataloguing negatives and putting together wedding albums. Yeah, negatives. Remember those?
When I’m not at work you can find me in the woods with my camera and yellow lab, Canyon, in tow. I enjoy photographing landscapes, wildlife, and documenting my adventures in the mountains. I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities including skiing, mountain biking, hiking, running, and whitewater rafting. After a long day at work during the summers I like to hike Snow King Mountain or go mountain biking on Putt Putt. During the winter I enjoy backcountry skiing and taking a break from the office to ski some powder at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort when I have a chance.
I have been living in Jackson since the fall of 2009, when I packed up my life into a red Exterra and left my home in Massachusetts. According to my “master plan” I was supposed to just stay in Jackson for the winter (to be a ski bum), but after a few months I was hooked. Jackson is unlike any other place on earth. Its outstanding beauty and vastness and the number of outdoor activities it offers had me wanting to see what a summer in Jackson would be like. I bought a mountain bike, some bear spray, a pair of chacos, a tent, and it was only then that I realized that I was getting “sucked into the hole” as they call it. And I have to admit, once you give in to it, it’s not too bad! Whether you are visiting for a day, week, or “for a season” I hope that you get to see why Jackson Hole is really a special place.
